Ukrainian civilians are treated as POWs, prisoners of war. The movement is restricted, they keep in custody. According to the international humanitarian law, the occupier state should release any sort of civilians in their custody if there is no military necessity. We have information from a prisoner that was released that they were being tortured during interrogation and forced to do hundreds of pushups. They are also being brainwashed, they are forced to participate in so-called referendums in the south of Ukraine. There is no legal justification as well as no military necessity to hold back Ukrainian civilians in Russian custody.
