Control Is Better Than Control, but It Means the Same Thing

If we agree that everybody wants to be in charge of their own life and assert themselves, then it's no surprise to us that people are mad about that. And they protest in the only way that they know how, which is to what we would call act out. Then somebody acts out, they behave in a way that we find distressing or that is actually dangerous or desruptive. And then we say, see, we are right. They needed more control. We're going to control them even tighter. So the tighter you control somebody, the more they're going to act out. If we didn't, we'd all stil ewith our mother.
