The History of Shawnee Park
In 1927, Connolly Sneato bought the land. He had swings built and a pond turned into a pool from what I read,. There was a dance hall, a speakeasy and a ferris wheel. The tribe later gave the remains of Ezekiel back to Mitchell. It's thought to be about 3,000 graves on the property. Due to so many children dying at this park, the owner chose to close it down in 1996.
