Rishi Sunak is a former Chancellor of the Exjekah who was involved in the ejection of Boris Johnson from office this summer. He's associated with fiscal orthodoxy and sound money, which is a good combination given some of the problems that now face Britain. Some parties denounced Mr Sunak's coronation and called on him to seek a mandate from the public in a general election. There is no mandate now that conservatives have completely broken their promises - it looks unlikely for the moment.
