The Importance of Edge AI
Most of this sensor data that we're gathering at all times nowadays is discarded before it even gets used to make a decision. And if you put algorithms on the device that can interpret that data and make decisions based on it or distill it into a more compact form, then you're able to make much better decisions than you would be able to with the limited amount of data that you could get back to your central location. The whole field and practice of Edge AI is basically how do we take AI, often in the form of machine learning models, but not always? How do we how do we takes these models or this code and make it work on these kind of tiny devices?
