The Importance of Breaking Window Police
The idea of broken windows policing was that a community that has order is going to be less susceptible to misbehavior by residents or visitors. So this is the model that happened under Bill Brett in New York City where the conversation was about using the police to create order. And I think there's evidence that proactive policing definitely works, right? But it also runs the risk of alienating people and creating a sense that people are being targeted.
