There is some evidence now that they've also made cave paintings, which was kind of seen as like the last thing separating Neanderthals from Homo sapiens. A few years ago, a team that was working to date images in a series of caves in Spain found evidence that these are geometric images. So the assumption is they have to have been Neanderthal creations. But for now, many archaeologists is that Neanderthals must have made it.
