Neil feels pretty indifferent about whether he goes to heaven or hellye. All he wants is to be with sarah. But then, in a visitation by the angel nathaniel, sarah is killed as part of just collateral mage. As she bleeds out, someone sees her soul arise to heaven. So now neel's in this horrible position where the one person he loved, the person who made his life worth living, would have been happy to spend all eternity with in hell.
