He did that Tetris book. He needs to, he needs to write a book about.
Speaker 1
Did you see the Tetris movie? Yeah, it was fantastic. It was a blast. Yeah. I love, I love, I, I, I, we had over on the, I fanboy podcast, we identified, you know how, you know, Netflix has like those really, really micro genres. Yeah. Like because you like, whatever, um, what we've determined is that one of my pet genres is biz, uh, business stories based on real events. Right? I love dramatizations of business like Air, the Blackberry, Amazon with, yeah, with Dumb Money, the one about the GameStop thing. I haven't seen that one. That one was good. Yeah. And give me any, the Blackberry movie, like you mentioned, Blackberry. Um, there's a movie about the beanie babies craze like any based on a true story, business related movie I'm there for. So yeah. Uh,
Speaker 2
I'm writing these down because apparently I've not seen any of these. Oh, yeah. They're good ones. So let me see them. You saw
Speaker 1
blackberry, right? You saw blackberry.
Speaker 2
I don't know that I did see blackberry.
Speaker 1
It was great. Oh, you gotta watch
Speaker 2
blackberry.
Speaker 1
I
Speaker 2
need to, I need to watch And you know, to be completely honest, sometimes when I sit down to watch a movie, like I'm so, I, I'm so much into my life in technology news that often it takes me a long time to watch the movies that are made about the technology industry. Because you, right. Because I'm like, no, like I want to watch like a, something that's completely different than something that I follow and stuff. So, which isn't to say I don't like them when I finally do, but I gotta be in the right mood. I gotta be like, okay, I'm willing to give two and a half hours to this movie. That's all about things that I read a lot about and you know, that I podcast about, but you know, same goes for the books. You know, the big books that everybody comes out. But you gotta read those.
Speaker 1
As long as I've been, even going back to when I was a kid, and it'd be, you know, part of the love of technology I have is this, is that like the tall tales and the stories. I mean, I remember hearing the story of Jobs and Woz and the garage and like, and, you know, and Bill Gates and doing all the stuff. And then I remember when Pirates of Silicon Valley came out. Yeah. Do you remember that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And Anthony Michael Hall is Bill G. I just fall in love with these stuff because honestly like in the technology world, even like Tetris, I remember playing Tetris from Spectrum Holobyte in 1987 on a CGA monitor. These know the these were my heroes right the the computer engineers and folks of that of the 70s and 80s were the people I looked up to and so part so while I understand that like we're in the thick of this there's still that I still have that love and that emotion for the people who make the technology that that we get to talk about all the time right yeah yeah you know yeah and that's why like a check like Chet's book about Android and like all these sort of, all these sort of, you know, kind of documenting of the technology and how it affects our culture. I just find,
Speaker 2
I just, I love it. I think it's great. I forgot about Pirates of Silicon Valley. That was a fun one. 1999 on that one. Yeah. Yeah. I remember. That was a long time ago. I do remember that one. Yeah. On TNT. Turner News television. Yep. Okay. T and T. Turner network television. I can't remember. Anyways. Okay.
Speaker 1
Turner network, Turner network. Okay.
Speaker 2
That makes more sense than Turner news. Okay. We are not done with this show. We're going to take a quick break and then when we come back, we got some feedback. Explaining

All right. Uh, contact that Android faithful.com is the email address. If you want to send us an email, Adam in San Diego writes, I keep reading about how Gemini is improving and just read today about how Gemini's voice mode is now available for free in the Android app. I was pretty excited about this considering the comparable, the comparable, sorry, version, uh, for chat. GBT is still a paid service. So I downloaded the Gemini app and when to use it, the first thing it asked me was if I wanted to switch over from Google assistant to Gemini for everything. Heck no, I don't. I keep hearing about how Gemini kind of stinks for assistant functionality. So I don't want to switch over for all that stuff. Even if Google is slowly trying to cripple my beloved assistant without Gemini being ready to take over. So why do I have to choose? Why can't I just try out Gemini or use it for things it's good at and keep using Google Assistant until they eventually merge them once it's ready, assuming that will happen. We all know how terrible Google is at this stuff.
