Xenophon and the Drillae

With Chiarosophus gone, organized raiding parties were sent out to forage and plunder the Colkean countryside. They suffered a great many casualties, which included the death of Clionetis himself. Xenophon decided to change tactics, and sent half of his army to penetrate different lands and search the supplies while the remaining half held the camp against a possible Colkean reprisal. The land of the Drillae was rugged in mountainous, and the Drillae themselves were considered the most warlike of all the peoples on the Black Sea.
