The Argument From Perfection to Immutability

In order to find assurance in God, we need to consider some arguments for and against each view. The most common argument throughout Christian history is the argument from perfection to immutability. Since all change is for the better or worse, well then it must be the case that God cannot change at all. But anyone who affirms mutability wants to say, hang on a second, God can change intrinsically and extrinsically to some extent as he freely interacts with his creation. With these definitions before us, we can ask which view is needed in order to have assurance in the promises of God.
