Eliot: The Salvation Army is a lot like Mother Teresa in that way. For many people, they're the very metric of goodness that other good things are measured against. When their charitable obligations come into conflict with their religious obligations, the religious obligations always win. If your desire to help people is more important than the rules of your invisible friend, you just do the charity thing.
