What Is Gatekeep?
The term gatekeep was initially used in the 1947 study by social psychologist Kurt Lewin where he analyzes changing food habits within a given population. He refers to this narrowing of the channel like where the wife is stopped in front of the food and makes a decision about it as A gate section. This isn't limited to food channels though Lewin also says that there are gate sections in the passage of information from like news Communication channels which decide what is it isn't shared with the public. There's also a gate section in universities among the admission boards which determine which types of students are in and which aren't suitable for entrance.
