What's Going on in Genesis 12?

In Genesis 12, Avram builds an altar and calls in the name of the lord. He then goes back to where he'd built it before - which is kind of interesting. The centre of this casm is ovram's o moment where he realizes that things don't always go as we plan. And so the question coming out of this story with this chiasm might be, what is avram going to do with this new lesson? Is he going to react in fear or security? What is he goig to do with his new found knowledge?
