What's the Point of a Sermon?

We just happened to be born in the 1980s to become cognizant at such a time to know so many things. We don't know how to be a guide if we haven't been transformed first or transformed as well. And I would say sometimes you don't have to be transformed beforehand. You can be transformed in the midst of it. The point of the sermon is for the audience to go, oh, I'm in this story too. Like I'm a part of this work of God in the world and I'm finding myself in that.
