I think the one thing that always comes to mind for me when I think about this is transparency. Back then you relied on, I don't know how many there were, but like a handful of Yes. Narrow sources. Now everyone can create content. We all essentially our own newspaper. How do you spot someone who is an academic that is genuinely a good evidence-based science communicator? Like, what are the kind of characteristics that you would look out for? Yeah. And it would be great to have more of these folks amplified within mainstream media.

In Episode #227, I sit down with Alan Flanagan, PhD and Drew Harrisberg to discuss the carnivore diet and veganism, assessing many of the popular claims made by health and nutrition “influencers”. We discuss Big Pharma, social media censorship, and vegan protein intake. We also zoom in on the ethics of veganism, spotting a legitimate academic, and why socioeconomic and environmental factors impact nutrition decisions.
