In this episode, we welcome Sonny Sandoval to the show. He is the lead singer of the multi-platinum selling and thrice Grammy nominated nu-metal group P.O.D. P.O.D. has been making music for three decades and has sold over 12 million records worldwide. He is also the Co-Founder of the ministry group called The Whosoevers and the author of the new book “Son of Southtown: My Life Between Two Worlds”. In this interview, we discuss why the timing was right for him to release a book, what it was like growing up in Southtown, how the death of his mother helped lead him to Christ, how he got his start in music, the early days of P.O.D., Christians being critical of the band’s style of music, why heavy music isn’t automatically “satanic”, what it was like when the band experienced super stardom, why his band toured with bands that were not Christian, why he decided to take a year off from the band to start a ministry organization, his Mount Rushmore of P.O.D. albums, the one P.O.D. song that he would leave for humanity, and much more. Let’s get into it…
