The Oregon Experiment

The Oregon Experiment is important for a few reasons. Most notably because it's the only randomized control trial to date testing how health insurance impacts people's lives. The thing that was surprising to a lot of people is that they also went to the emergency room on average 40% more when they had insurance than when they were uninsured. If you get hit by a bus, you're going to the ER, insured or not.
