The earliest evidence of phoenician settlement, or intense activity at least, comes from welwine in southern spain. So thereis like a first phase in the late ninth century that is really reaching all the way out there. Then they settle in gadir also, cadis to theiscadis, also at the end of the ninth century. That seems to correspond to carthage, or maybe a little with later carthage. And then itstarts filling up during the eighth century.
