The Origins of Giants in Antiquity

One theory is that there was a tribe of people of exceptional height in modern Scandinavia. This is partially based on the prevalence of the Yotun in North Smith, but also the hyperborean giants in Greek myth. It seems odd that multiple people have myths of a giant race from the north. And we do know that some people in northern Europe are taller than say people in southern Europe.
