The Importance of Counterfactuals in Philosophy

I'd previously been interested in the nature of laws and particularly counterfactuals. I made a sort of bridge between Nelson Goodman's way of thinking aboutcounterfactuals and David Lewis's way of Thinking About Counterfactuality. And that's been an important question, which now has spreanched out all over the place. The way it's being treated in philosophy of language is very different from the way I want to treat it.
