The Value of Depth in Material Design

We're not trying to like introduce an artificiality where is it welcome or useful. But on some of the contexts, we found that it is valuable. It seems like every item in material design has X, Y and Z axis. You have to think about depth all the time. And that's kind of unique in a design context, I think, for the web.
