The Night Watchmen in Rome

In ancient Rome, like the kind of graffiti networks they had really did act a lot like social media does to the extent that famous and powerful people would use them. And most of what we today would recognize as law enforcement was handled by citizens watching over their own communities. The English called this kin police is it was generally seen as the responsibility of individual families to watch out for and police their family members. We talk about the government like the government. It was just kind of everyone.
