How to Evaluate Your Peer Support Program's Success
Over the two years our program has been running, we've hired four peer workers in Calgary. And they have connected with over 1,500 patients. They receive referrals from our emergency departments throughout the city and also from other clinics. One emergency department in Rhode Island reported a 95% decrease in return to emergency department visit rates for people who are connected with a peer in their community.
