The effect of losing cash can be absolutely brutal at scale. I remember doing a ZFS audit on a large e-commerce site that you've all heard of and maybe even used. And I was like, why are you mirroring your L2 arc? We're like, if we lose our cache, the database isn't going to be fast enough. So we mirror our cache. But I had never heard of anybody doing that before.
