The Rise and Fall of Lynette Harris
Yusef Abdulihae had been working on board the ship MV Coral Sea. His common-law wife was having an affair with Jeff Smith, a South Wales police officer attached to the vice squad. He thinks this made them very susceptible to police pressure. And it could explain why the stories changed according to what they thought the police wanted to hear from them. Lynette's friend Leanne Vilday was particularly vulnerable to pressure as she was a lesbian, single parent and drug addict. She eventually named Stephen Miller and Abdullah High as the killers in front of several other prostitutes. But when questioned by police again, she said this was a false accusation.
