Reagan's Strategic Vision of the Cold War - We Win and They Lose

"My theory of the Cold War is simple. We win and they lose," Reagan told an advisor in 1977, before he's run announcing his candidacy. "There was no thought whatsoever that the Soviet Union could actually be defeated," Kissinger said at the time. The U.S. foreign policy establishment thinks in terms of managing relations with a potentially hostile power, says historian Julian Zelizer.
