This book is based on an article I wrote in 2003 for Astronomy magazine. It's like, people are always asking me this, what do these things look like if you were there? Most of the stars, and they're actually quite faint. We now have way better observations since 20 years ago. And yeah, a lot of these stars will be intensely luminous, brilliant stars in your sky.
