The Problem of Scale in Democracy
Aristotle said democracy can be the size of the number of people that you can gather in one place and that can all hear each other speak. Aristotle had a specific answer, right? And he figured that was around 5,000, 6,000 people,. But that's one answer, but it's not just a problem of scale. The idea of just letting people at random make big political decisions that affect everyone is Platonic intuition.
