The Theory of General Relativity
In 1905, Albert Einstein published four revolutionary papers. One of them introduced his theory of special relativity. Ten years later, he followed this up with a more general theory known as the general theory of relativity. In 1919, British astronomer Sir Arthur Eddington was able to view an eclipse of the Sun. His observations showed that the Sun does indeed bend the light of distant stars.
