What Year Was the Modern Stop Light Invented?
Inventors filed patents to help control the flow of traffic. In 19 ten an american inventor tried to get his idea to catch on, a spinning sign that simply said, stop on one side and proceed on the other. A police officer in salt lake city, utah, invented the firstel traffic light using red and green lights. The trolley wires overhead powered it, and the colors had to be manually switched by a police officer.
