Acute Tubular Nephritis - Is There a Muddy Brown Cast for ATN?

The classic presentation for ATN is muddy brown casts. The textbook presentation of acute glomerae lintofritis is red blood cell casts or dysmorphic red cells if you look at the red cell often under a phase contrast you can see little mickey mouse ears. There's an overlap though people who have acute glomers also have inflammation in their kidneys so they can have white cell casts and there's a lot of overlap but those are things that we look at.
