The charlotte mason method involves reading books that are meant to engage the child and not just be a dry text. The idea is you spread before the child a delectable feast and allow them to taste of each of the different ideas and topics. And then they can, from that time, dig in more to the things that interest them. There are no questions at the end. There's no quizzes. You read for enjoyment and information, and you take from it what's interesting to you.
