R&B artist Sam Smith says he learned to make beats on a free sampler. The machine was the center of his studio, but it took him time to learn how to work with it. "It just gives you, it's like a performance vehicle that you, and you know what I mean? So yeah" He adds: "You can put any sound into this as any sound."
