Carasels in Philadelphia

Gustav dencel was originally from germany, and he emigrated to the us in the mid 18 hundreds. As a boy, densel had travelled throughout germany with his family in the summers, helping them run their carisel ride. In the 18 sixties, gustav's father shipped the young man, his brothers and a carasel to america on a steamer when they got there, they brought philadelphia one of the first carasels in the united states. And they set up shop there. The densel amily built this reputation of incredible craftsmanship, and they set the tone of realism that came to be associated with the philadelphia style
