Gold is the debris of a large star's death, and can be found on all inhabited land masses. The melting point of gold is similar to that of copper so humans who could smelt even the toughest copper ores could melt gold. This would have been perfect for those humans who had started making casts in which liquid metal could be poured to make solid metal objects. If we go back to the vana necropolis where almost 300 graves have been found, we can see an astonishing amount of gold buried with and among the dead.
