Is There a Role for Russia in the Caucasus?

Tensions are really heightened, not just on the ground, but on social media and sort of again, the public sphere between Kyrgyz and Tajik is in a way that I haven't seen before. Russia does have military bases in both Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. So there is sort of, one can imagine a place for Russia to help bring these two sides together. But it's never done that really effectively in the past and it absolutely cannot do it now.
