Burr's Life Story

In 1777 the then 21 year old Burr became one of the army's youngest lieutenant kernels assuming command of 300 soldiers. He endured the famously brutal winter at Valley Forge defending an isolated pass with a small unit of men. Bad health led him to resign from the army in 1779 and resume his studies. Three years later he married the adosia barto Prevost who was 10 years his senior and the widow of a British army officer. The couple moved to New York where Burr passed the bar.
