Ivan Grozny was a grandson of the Byzantine princess, Sophia, and Ivan the Great. His grandparents were alone dead when he was born, and his parents were eager to follow them. A group of advisors appeared that were called by some historians, the chosen consul. They united over the figure of Ivan IV, and they saw a possibility to influence him.
