The Legend of Enkidu

Gilgamesh was a tyrant who lorded his might over the men of Uruk. He insisted that when women were married they came to his bed first before going to those of their husbands. The great god Anu was displeased at Gilgamesh's conduct and summoned the mother goddess who had made mankind. In the wild she created Enkidu, the hero, offspring of silence, knit strong.
