The Importance of Music in Learning
Music is more likely to be getting in the way because it's that kind of task. If you've got something arbitrary, then music should be all right. But I know kids who, without the music, they're just not going to sit down and do the homework in the first place. And if this song isn't cool, you need to be sort of showing everyone that, no, it's my social brownie point or whatever. It's an extra layer of distraction for me as a teacher.
