The Carl Andre Retrospective at Dia

The curator of the Carl Andre retrospective at Dia in Los Angeles was once courted for his dream job. So it seemed like a good idea to see the show, which is filled with natural daylight and minimal sculptures. After I got my bearings, I asked one of the security guards where the start of the exhibition was. He said there wasn't one you could just start wherever. As he resigned himself to just wandering around, my ego was too busy fantasizing about that job in LA to give room to any of the questions in the back of my mind.
