Jackie's Experiences in Mali
In 2012, the landlocked country of Mali in West Africa was overrun by terrorist groups. These groups included a local group, the Tuareg movement, who allied themselves with Al-Qaeda. Jackie and her crew were responsible for bringing a combat medical team from the initial point of injury to hospital. Canada's mission was to provide life-saving medical evacuation services and in-country transport to UN peacekeepers.
