The Spanish, the Spanish, and the Spaniards.
As they approached the great causeway of the city, they must have done so with an enormous sense of trepidation. But there, out in the middle of the bridge, they saw a figure standing in a crown of green quetzel feathers,. surrounded on either side by warriors wearing jaguar skins and eagle feathers. The emperor moctezuma had finally come out to meet them. Montezuma had watched the approach of the spanish with horror, and to him he must have made an impressive and fearsome sight.
