Bacteria in your mouth can train your immune cells to recognize certain things. A study found that if you put a lot of one bacteria, Klebsiella, in most people's mouths, then the immune system starts to recognize that as really bad. So what it does is it not just removes it in the mouth, but it moves around your body. It says, oh my gosh, this is in the gut too. I have to forgive it of everything. And Klebsiello in the gut is actually a sign of Crohn's disease.
