The Rage of Grief in Animal
I lost my parents not as young as Joan, the character did or in the same way. But I did lose them and it was too early. And so I think the rage of grief is something I'm really interested in. So there's gender rage, there's grief rage. There's lots of themes in your writing that are like mother, daughter and father, daughter relationships. Do you feel like that influenced the way that you grew up? Yeah, I've always felt like an outsider.
