Sasala's War With the Romans
Sala, the consul in charge of Rome during a civil war, violently overthrew his enemies. He did so by prescribing death for those who opposed him. The punishment was worse than being crucified: you had to flee roman lands. It wasn't very popular and people thought he was going too far with it. But then Marius came back from exile; Sala killed some of his enemies as well.
