We're talking about simulating reactions that should have been going on across the sea floor. The fact that we can make it happen a little bit in the lamb is an encouraging start. But we've got a reactor which is this big, at atmospheric pressure in a glass jar. And these are the real problems for the origin of life that have barely been touched on or addressed yet. We try to reconfigure them from the same ingredients that cells make. Not things that might work best, but the things that cells use.
