The Unusual Eggs in the Berkeley Collection
The Berkeley Museum of Vertebrate Zoology has about 14,000 eggs. The largest bird that ever existed is the elephant bird from Madagascar. Jicana eggs are covered with these elaborate squiggles. Tiny anise hummingbird eggs look like a cannellini bean.
