Hayek's Critique of Large Scale Social Planning
Hayek thought markets would address a great many of the problems that human beings face. He was against the idea that you could somehow plan outcomes. The problem is really how to coordinate actions, given that we have so many different purposes and values. Hayek thinks it's a matter of people constantly and spontaneously trying to coordinate their activities.
